I have been involved in the vocational rehabilitation profession since the early1980's. As an undergraduate, I attended Troy State University and received my master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from Auburn University. My doctoral degree in Rehabilitation Psychology was received in 1989 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Presently, I am a tenured faculty member at Jackson State University and serve as Professor and Project Director Rehabilitation Counseling. Previously, I have qualified as a vocational expert in both federal and state courts. My professional research and publications have primarily focused in the area of vocational rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
I hold the following credentials Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, Certified Case Manager, National Certified Counselor and Mississippi Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Recently, I served as a consultant to the National Institute for Disability and Rehabilitation Research in the area of Health and The George Washington University, Washington, DC. Past service to my profession include Board of Directors posts for the National Rehabilitation Counseling Association, National Association of Multicultural Rehabilitation Concerns and National Council on Rehabilitation Education, Region IV Representative.
